Saturday, April 9th, 2011

LOCATION
Royal Canadian Legion Br #266, 3591 Dundas St. W., Toronto

REGISTRATION TIME
Registration begins at 9:00 AM with the tournament starting promptly at 11:00 AM.

Registration closes 30 minutes before the event is scheduled to start (~10:30 AM). Any player who wants to enter after registration has closed will be able to do so, but will receive a round one-match loss. Players arriving after round two has been paired will not be able to register in the tournament.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
DCI Sanctioned Standard. Legal sets and the most recent version of the ban list may be found in the Magic Floor Rules on the Wizards of the Coast website.

K-Value 32, this event will be contested at Competitive REL.

TOURNAMENT STRUCTURE
Modified Swiss with a cut to the top 8 players. The number of rounds will be based on number of players in the event.

ENTRY FEE
$30.00 – Credit and Debit cards are not accepted at the event site.

Prizes: $2500.00 in CASH prizes available to be won!

1st: $1000 + The Toronto Standard Open Trophy
2nd: $500
3rd-4th: $250
5th-8th: $55
9th-16th: $35

Prize based on 125 entries.

PRE-REGISTRATION
Players may pre-register for the Event at the Grinders, or at the registration table the night before (Friday) at the event location.

WIN A 2-Round Bye! GRINDERS!!!
Friday starting at 3pm we will be running 32-person single elimination Grinders. Finishing first gets you a 2-round bye for the Toronto Standard Open on Saturday. Formats for the Grinders will include Standard and Legacy. Entry for the Grinders is $20.00, with first getting 2-round Bye AND FREE ENTRY to the main event on Saturday and second getting a BOX of the current set of magic.

TRADING
While trading is fine, please note that buying/selling cards with anyone except for our authorized dealer, or soliciting to do so elsewhere, is strictly forbidden at this event. Failure to obey this rule may result in both the buyer and the seller being removed from the event without refund, and banned from attending future events.

The Canadian Magic Series also reserves the right to limit the amount of space being occupied by any one individual while trading, and does not allow the use of suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. to be used for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock.
