Face to Face Games is proud to announce that CommandFest is coming back to Toronto, August 21–23, 2026!
For the uninitiated: CommandFest is Magic’s flagship celebration of Commander, the format that’s taken over kitchen tables and game stores alike. It’s a full weekend dedicated entirely to the format you love, with Commander games happening at every level, from casual on-demand pods to ticketed events and competitive qualifiers. This year’s event is at Montecassino Hotel & Event Centre, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest one yet.
This year’s CommandFest will also celebrate the release of Magic: The Gathering x The Hobbit™, so get ready for an adventure (and don’t forget your handkerchief)!
What to Expect from CommandFest Toronto
Play Commander all Weekend
CommandFest is built around Commander, and the Command Zone is open from Friday through Sunday with on-demand pods running across Bracker 1-5. Whether you’re grinding ticketed events or just looking for a casual game, there’s a seat at the table for you. Pack a couple of decks — you’ll want options.
Ticketed Commander highlights include:
- CEDH Canadian Championships — the marquee competitive Commander event of the weekend, with custom prizing including uncut sheets and exclusive art prints
- Pre-Con Commander Grand Melee — a Commander Pre-Con deck is included with entry for a massive, anything-goes battle
- Emperor Commander, 2HG Commander, and more — formats you won’t find anywhere else on the F2F Tour
- Early Bird 2HG Commander — a great way to kick off your weekend Friday morning
Battle in competitive events
CommandFest Toronto is home to some of the most important competitive Magic of the season:
- Modern Super Qualifier — Sunday, with Regional Championship invites on the line
- Legacy Champs for Duals — Sunday, with Dual Lands as top prizes
- Modern Double Qualifier+ and Sealed RCQ — earning invites across the weekend
- The Hobbit Sealed Regional Championship Qualifier — Saturday, six rounds of double elimination

The Hobbit: Tales of Middle-earth takes centre stage across all three days:
- First Breakfast & Second Breakfast Hobbit Sealed — themed Double Up events with café vouchers for participants
- Full Box Hobbit Commander Sealed — a sealed experience using an entire booster box
- Mystery Booster 2 Sealed, Chaos Sealed, Middle Earth Sealed, and more
- The Hobbit Draft — on-demand single elimination drafts running all weekend

We’re bringing out some of the most beloved names in the Magic community for a full weekend of signings, meetups, and more. Face to Face Games will be running a retail booth and buy station all week, so you can buy / sell / trade your way to a deck that’s just right! We’ll have sealed product, tons of singles, and more on-site all weekend. It wouldn’t be a Magic event without ripping a few packs! You can also pick up online orders at the event.
Friday Night Commander Party
Friday night is more than just a warm-up. From 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the hall transforms into a Commander celebration with special activities, door prizes, and big community energy to kick things off right. Full details coming soon — follow F2F on social for more info!
