Memories from Toronto CommandFest 2024

The F2F Tour Toronto CommandFest 2024 brought Magic: The Gathering players together for an unforgettable weekend of competition, casual games, and community. Whether competing for trophies or just enjoying the company of fellow players, this event had it all.

The Faces of CommandFest

Here are just a few of the smiling faces and fun moments that made this weekend special:

Competitive Highlights

Ethan Duffy claimed victory in the CEDH 5K, earning both a trophy and a custom art print from Jeff Laubenstein.

Pedram Moazen-Sayad won the Modern Super Qualifier with his Rakdos Midrange deck, securing his spot in the Regional Championships.

Edgar Magalhães took home the win in the Modern Open with his UB Frog-eyes deck, showing that fun and competition can go hand in hand:

Precon Melee Champion

Samuel Boit stood out in the Precon Melee, taking home the title of Precon Melee Champion. With a big smile and his oversized Nissa, Who Shakes the World card, he celebrated his victory in style.

Fun and Friendship

Gabe shared his excitement about the weekend and how it was one of the best experiences in his career:

Gabe’s tweet really sums up what CommandFest is all about—the connections, the memories, and of course, the fun!

A Special Experience for All

David Beedle’s tweet highlighted a personalized touch from the event.

He thanked Ryan from Commander Cookout for making his trip extra special by personalizing some cards and adding his unique artistic flair to his deck.

Ryan himself shared a memorable story from the weekend:

“I did a chaos sealed and the dude beside me opened a textured foil Valgovoth. Beat him. Then, beat Kelly in round two.”
“Convinced a guy to cash out 4000 prize tickets on LOTR Holiday Collector packs, and on the last pack, he opened a poster One Ring.”
“With a broken leg and crutches, the F2F team was incredibly kind and accommodating, helping me stay involved.”

CommandFest isn’t just about competition—it offers something for everyone, whether you’re an artist, cosplayer, or just looking to explore creative avenues. We had talented artists like Snug the Amazing, offering custom tokens and artwork, while Jason Rainville provided fans with beautifully detailed Magic art. And the cosplay scene was alive and well, with appearances like Bunny Bombshell, showcasing incredible dedication to bringing Magic characters to life.
