The most recent updates to the Banned & Restricted list has just been announced and it’s safe to say that things are about to get really interesting in Modern.
Modern
[card]Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle[/card] is Unbanned.
Vintage
[card]Burning Wish[/card] is Unrestricted.
Erik Lauer, one of the lead Magic developers, explains the unbanning of Valakut:
Recent Modern tournaments have been diverse, with no deck dominating the metagame. Since Modern is a non-rotating format, banned cards never rotate out. The DCI is unbanning a card to see how that affects the format.
